Default ResetDeviceFailed()!

Any idea what's causing this? Whether I use alt + enter or the "Fullscreen" option from the in-game menu, I seem to have a 1 in 4 (or thereabouts) chance of this error occurring and my game crashing (causing me to go LD).

Not sure what the cause of it, my NVIDIA drivers seem to be up to date. Does running in compatibility mode do anything? Thanks, in advance, for your response.

Because the client is ancient and doesn't properly change between a fullscreen display and windowed display. Choose one, stay with it.

I recommend playing windowed. Tabbing out of fullscreen for long periods is high-crash-risk move as well.

Good advice. How would I go about changing the size of the screen, though? Is there anything like "Windowed-Fullscreen," or is that impossible to achieve?

EQCLIENT.INI (edit: In your EQ folder)

[VideoMode]
WindowedWidth=1280
WindowedHeight=1024

Change to desired values!

Just want to add this info.

"Error: ResetDevice () failed"
Is a known titanium client problem that will never be fixed.

And it will inevitably happen after you alt+enter enough times or even the first time.

This error would be thrown if DirectX failed to reset the Direct3D device.

I run the WinEQ Lite and run in Windowed mode exclusively and still get this error regularly. What am I doing wrong?

There seems to be no fix. I can run fullscreen all the time, windowed all the time it will crash with this error at any time. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] It always seems to throw this error out when I spin in place to change my view direction.

I use Borderless Gaming (an app) to play in fullscreen mode in windowed games, it fixes all my issues.
