Question What are the difference between magic weapons and non-magic ones?

Do magic weapons have some damage bonus?

Magic attacks ignore non magic AC … so azure sleeves (12 ac not magic item) and targishin’s mask (similar) are great against mundane attacks but not against ghouls, wisps, giants with magic weapons.

Your last words confuse me. So basically speaking, magic weapons do normal damage against everything while non-magic ones will do less against some types right?

No, some mobs are simply invulnerable to non-magic weapons. You will see a message like:
[Sun Mar 04 15:01:29 2018] Marylou tries to punch a ghoul, but a ghoul is INVULNERABLE!

This means that the poor twat Marylou from circa 2018 didn't have a magic item in her hand slot. Or similarly if it was something like:
[Wed Mar 07 13:00:32 2018] Xarantik tries to kick a ghoul, but a ghoul is INVULNERABLE!

It means that fuckwad Xarantik doesn't have magical feet things.

Or if it was like:
[Fri Jul 13 23:59:12 2018] Klaq tries to slash a lurking mummy, but a lurking mummy is INVULNERABLE!

Klaq is an asshat wielding some non-magical bullshit as a weapon.

Edit: forgot for a second I wasn't browsing rnf or green/teal where vitriol is a requirement, so all these people, whoever they are, are awesome but I'm going to leave my original words unchanged.

Edit edit: In long times past you might even advertise in your LFG message that you had a combine weapon for added appeal!

Nah, what i’m saying is it would be cool if magic weapons cut thru non-magic armour as if it wasn’t there. Thats not how eq actually works though, hence “I made it up”.

The only real use effect of the magic flag is for weapons - it lets you hit wisps, ghouls, etc which are immune to nonmagic attacks. Magic shields make magic bashed, magic shoulders magic slams and magic feet magic kicks. Magic hands magic punches (i swear this was monk only on live but works for all classes here).

Oh the magic flag also means an item 1) can’t be stolen by a rogue and 2) when disarmed falls into the target’s inventory instead of the ground.

One other slight difference: You disarm a monster's weapon, if it's magic it'll stay in the monster's inventory but not equipped while non-magic weapons like fine steel fall to the ground.
