I don't actively look for news. However Google sure does seem to curate the vilest shit sometimes. Mostly pushing some stupid agenda.

News is largely a series of events, localized since we ain't quantum, that concern a finite list of topics. You can select the topic, and the localization, and get a much better info slice (Hell Yeah Info Slice. Mourn Ya till I join Ya) from written sources beginning with basic encyclopedia level details. One always needs context, no? The news is important only to the extent it relates to the past, otherwise its just the passing now, and unless it is very sticky, it's probably gone tomorrow.
