I didnt read the other posts but the first few levels (1-20) are brutally hard on almost any class starting out.
I would recommend doing the mail quest if you are near felwithe/kelethin if you get bored of killing bees and you need a few extra gold for a new spell. (Rewards 1-10 gp) https://wiki.project1999.com/Bard_Mail | ||

Firstly... Welcome!
First 15-20 levels on any class is quite challenging however there are plenty of people around who can help. I have recently started eq again and I can say that making some coin in the early levels is very handy indeed. Read up on the classes they are all very different and try a few that tiggle your fancy. Try not to worry about grinding to max level as quick as possible there is much to see in the world of everquest
