Default Clinging darkness not lasting as long as it should

[Mon Jul 13 13:40:30 2020] You begin casting Clinging Darkness.
[Mon Jul 13 13:40:32 2020] You are in the grip of darkness.
[Mon Jul 13 13:40:56 2020] The darkness fades.

it's supposed to be a 6 tick spell. That should mean you would never see a duration less than 30 seconds.

Are you casting it on yourself? Snares may have reduced duration when cast on player characters. I ask because when I use it on ordinary monsters it lasts as expected. As a Shadow Knight I use the spell a great deal, as recently as last night.

Ya you can see in the log I was casting on myself. Some sort of pvp nerf or something to lower duration on snares? I thought they just reduced damage for pvp.

I logged on and double-checked Clinging Darkness duration against random norrathian wildlife just to be sure. It consistently lasts the expected duration. I suspect you're correct and you encountered some PvP-specific tuning.

Yeah snares don’t last as long when cast on PC’s. As a bluebie, I thank the sweet lord when I mistakenly snare myself instead of the merb.
