Default Our expectations, raiding and consequences.

Fellow Norrathians,

It has been an unfortunate few days within the Green server’s raid community.

As many of you know, one of P99’s goals is to provide the playerbase with a classic EverQuest experience that includes a thriving community as well as some friendly competition for highly desired mobs. We’ve recently had quite a bit of discussion amongst the staff regarding the raid situation on the green server, and have determined one guild (Seal Team) has established unopposed access to the end-game Kunark content of Veeshan’s Peak. Since the launch of Kunark, Seal Team has been merited every single kill of Trakanon; 31 in total. While a top guild has always existed on classic EverQuest servers, completely unopposed access to content is not a classic experience, and not what we endeavor the P99 experience to be. In response, our staff implemented a policy around Trakanon, stating that any guild/alliance may only kill 3 competitive Trakanons in a row.

Our staff fully believes that this is the correct policy to help rebalance the server and ensure that other Guilds have a fighting shot at experiencing end-game content. Unfortunately, the leadership of Seal Team did not take it as such. Rather than engaging in a conversation with the server staff and potentially escalating to the server’s management team, which would have been the appropriate mechanism to appeal a policy decision that they didn’t agree with, they opted to take out their frustration on the Green Server as a whole by completely deleting the Green UN Discord Server. This server was not only a location for Guilds to discuss raid tactics and seek agreements, but also housed quite a bit of history in terms of past precedence and previous documentation. Please note that this change was not even a UN agreement - it was a staff ruling.

In addition, Seal Team’s leadership also opted to excuse themselves from all previous agreements and purposefully go after raid mobs they previously agreed to leave up. Seal Team killed multiple Overseers & named mobs in Plane of Sky, even after they participated in and lost a race which they had agreed to honor the day prior. They also killed Lady Vox, knowing that she was being held for an Open Server raid, in which more casual players were looking forward to participating.

While the server staff did not mandate any Guild agree to these, there is a rule in the P99 Play Nice Policy which states that a player may not defraud other players. This is defined as falsely representing one’s intentions to make a gain at another’s expense. An example includes using deception to deprive another player of items. While Seal Team’s leadership did post a vague notice on the forums that they were absconding from player agreements 19 minutes prior to engaging the first mob, this did not provide any other Guild with enough information or nearly enough time to enable competition or determine the appropriate way to move forward - especially given the sudden change in communication that not having the UN discord server introduced. The blue server has a rule where a 72 hour notice must be given in advance when leaving a player agreement to prevent any sudden rage induced decision

Seal Team’s raid suspension will continue until further notice. Additionally, due to leading the members of ST in behavior that ultimately resulted in defrauding other Guilds (pursuant with the description above), after much internal discussion we have decided a raid suspension isn't enough. We will be targeting ST's leadership team that participated in the fights with PNP suspensions also.

Rest assured that the server staff takes no pleasure in having to react to such unfortunate behavior. That being said - also be assured that we will not sit by idly when any entity or individual impacts overall server health in such a negative and intentional way. We sincerely hope that Seal Team’s leadership takes this time to reflect on their behavior and determine appropriate next steps to contribute to the P99 Green Community as a whole, rather than further detract from it.
