Default Multiple Core Issue?

When I try to initialize EQ through EQEmuLauncher or WinEQ it closes. Both of these programs set core affinity.

When I turn the affinity off in EQEmuLauncher i can open EQ, load into game (but then, i have the core issue, and cannot play)

When I launch EQ with the cmd affinity 1 as Nilbog has suggested, EQ wont launch. When i take this out of the filepath, EQ will launch, but then, again, unplayable.

This all started with the WinEQ change last night.

--------------------------------

I have reinstalled EQ. I have updated drivers for graphics, chipset and all MB drivers. I have reinstalled WinEQ. I'm not sure what to test next, any ideas? A lot of people had this issue last night, i bet some of them have fixed it and have an answer.

Intel or AMD? and which model?

A lot of these issues are solved/fine when running Windows 7 with latest updaes and launching EQ normally via eqgame.exe patchme target command.

Thankyou. Yes, i've tried all of those and the AMD drivers that work on multiple core issues. None have worked. That was where i looked first.

So.. while Red99 was down i logged into other EQEmus to chat with pals. For these other EQEmus i have another EQ directory. WinEQ was able to open EQ from this directory, fine. So i moved the EQchanges into this folder and now WinEQ will not open it.

Must be something in these changes that's causing this error for me?

I did a system restore, a couple of times, with a couple of tests. WinEQ after the July 27 patch fights something in the dsetup.dll from that July 14th patch for Red99 changes.

They are now not compatible on my machine.

I don't have any issues with wineq2 after they repatched.

Are you running everything as administrator?

If open, close wineq in your tray.

While holding SHIFT, right click your shortcut for wineq, and choose run as administrator.
