I thought yellow groupmate was who was targeted? Am I remembering incorrectly?

These are great screenshots. I want to know where the Uncle Sam Hell is the level up notification? When we ding, orbs flew around us in 1999. This doesn't happen on p99. Back then your group mates could SEE you level up and congratulate you when those gold orbs flew up around you. Please tell me someone has the golden orbs dinging screenshot.

The level up effect (yellow stars swirl around you) was added much later... I'm pretty sure you can still see it on live servers. But not in classic EQ. That's why people would say ding, to let others know they leveled up.

I remember the group leader's name showing up in yellow. That's one of those things that I never would have thought about until I saw the screenshots.

I believe this is because the person taking the screenshot was the group leader.

Look at the auctions in gfay for shiny brass halberd and executioner hood. They were a big deal back then. EC tunnel wasn't really a thing yet

It depended on your server. Some had ec tunnel, some had faymart. A few had both.

Accident on a neglected hard drive. I wiped my tiny hard drive all the time or upgraded all the time as I inherited larger drives and did clean installs so who knows what might be somewhere.

These artifacts are the best
