For me the real issue with red is not that I would lose fights, nor that I would be surrounded by degenerates and apes. It's the fact that I would be losing fights to degenerates and apes and my ego is just too fragile to live in a place like that.

Also the fact that I was playing my wizard and every zone had 3 people in it at the most, and I felt like I was lost in space. A space where at any moment some degenerate ape could come and kill me just because he felt the whim to make my day a little less pleasant.

Custom content, like guild-controllable objectives out in the world. Like that tower on the zoneline from NK to SK, Highkeep, or the docks in Oasis. Maybe controlling them would periodically grant the guild gems or xp bonus or something, I dunno. Basic vanilla EQ pvp isn't very compelling to me.

Oh and the vast majority of the current red community would need to be gone

yea I know, custom content is a dirty phrase here

Have a Priest of Order so you could turn in your book and opt out.

Unless you want to get really rough and start threatening my kid or something.

A classic PvP server:

No serverwide OOC
No PvP serverwide messages each kill
Item Loot
No EXP bonus
Copying Blue toons over to facilitate more competitive PvP

Sounds about right.

The last "good" guild on Red just died. There is no reason to play Red. Red is dead. The Devs do not care about Red.

This is pretty much it.

Otherwise, dead box is dead.

Wouldn't take much, just switch the XP rate back to what it was and what people have enjoyed for 2+ years.

My one experience with red was being grieved by a super twink that kept a character at max pvp level range for all the different level tiers so he could annoy players of any level entering the estate of unrest. He kept spouting about how we were noobs, which we were and he was going to continue to own us all day. Not very smart if you want to retain a player base. The entire group I was with couldn't kill this guy. What's the point in grieving new players?
