Hand to Hand (H2H) Weapons

Fist of Lightning dropped from Eashan the other night and is tagged as a Hand to Hand weapon in game.

1) This item shouldn't be dropping until October 2001.

2) This item should be 1 hand blunt to start, along with other fist wrap weapons.

It's really too bad...

That this item, and the other Fistwrap items, don't act as Hand-to-Hand weapons.

That would be neat to see, if Verant could code it. Weapon-slot equipable items that are used with the Hand-to-Hand skill.

Then maybe they could raise the Monk cap on HtH to 250 like it should be.

Still trying to pinpoint the date these items became Hand to Hand (H2H) from 1 hand blunt. It was either in the weeks leading up to Luclin, or the Luclin patch itself as there are many H2H items in Luclin.

Other items that should be 1 hand blunt rather than hand to hand also these weapons should not be in game or have their upgraded versions until October 2001:

1. Wurmscale Fistwraps (also shouldn't be in game until October 2001, similar comments about not being H2H in 2001).
2. Primal Velium Fistwraps (1 hand blunt to start, October 2001 1)
3. Priceless Velium Fistwraps(1 hand blunt to start, October 2001 1)
4. Fist of Nature (whether this should be in game is still up for debate 1, 2, 3).
5. Gharn's Rock of Smashing (Upgraded to 16/19 in October 2001).
6. Wu's Fist of Mastery (Shouldn't be in game yet 1, 2)
7. Wu's Tranquil Fist

The random drop hand to hand newbie knuckles and fist that drop from old world content were added with/after Luclin.

Could it be that the 1hb FoL was on Eashans loot table prior to October 2001, but it just hadn't dropped yet?

It's possible - Allakhazam comments aren't infallible. You'd have to go through a bunch of high end guilds websites and check kill shots to make sure, and even that doesn't guarantee anything. Not a ton of data to go by either way.

Too bad Magelo wasn't a thing back then.

I agree, it seems like a far reach to say that it wasn't on his loot table prior to October 2001 because there isn't an entry on alla until then. While it's obvious that it should be 1HB, more evidence is needed to completely remove it from the game.

Highly doubtful, he was one of the most commonly killed NToV dragons and no sighting of it until October is extremely unlikely for it to have been on his loot table.

There is also this October 8, 2001 patch note, which includes the melee 2 hander upgrades.

Rogues, as the primary user of piercing weapons, will benefit from an improvement in the quality of a few existing high-end daggers. At some future date new piercing weapons will be added to the game to fill gaps in equipment availability.
Monks will now be on an improved combat table at levels 55 and again to a better table at 60. Monks now have the ability to Triple Attack at 60th level. The minimum damage done by Flying Kick will be greatly increased for monks starting at 51st level and scaling up to level 60. We also intend to add more monk weapons in the future to fill equipment gaps.

Still shouldn't be dropping, even if that is the case. Also the other items need to be verified for proper 1h blunt tagging.

gharn's rock of smashing currently 1h blunt - i have one

fist of nature was 1h blunt when it dropped on beta iirc

Fist of Lightning and the others still need to be removed from drop tables to prevent further spoilage.
