Greater Vocaration Air and Water Hit point test results
So recently I had a chance to work on getting some hit point testing done with the awesome help of Tritina of Fires of Heaven (Thank you!). We summoned a pet of each level range in the Greater Vocaration lines for Water and Air, as well as the epic pet. Then we would nuke each pet with a cinder bolt for 333 damage and a Shock of Swords for 600 damage, paying attention to the % HP that would decrease from each nuke.
Here is the initial data: Epic pet took 8% damage from Cinder bolt (CB) and 15% damage from Shock of Swords (SoS). 333 / 8 = 41.625 x 100 = 4162.5 600 / 15 = 40 x 100 = 4000 Average total: 4081.25 hp One issue we discovered is that the server ticks with regen would often add a percentage point of health, this reducing the number we were seeing. We could test by nuking over and over but I feel like the numbers we're seeing are close enough to expected that the margin of error is acceptable. I'm also thinking that there could be rounding errors using a 333 damage nuke. The wiki has 4000 hp listed for the Epic pet. Greater Vocaration Water unfocused: Max damage hit 50: 15% CB for 2200 hp, 26% SoS for 2307 HP Average total: 2253.5 hp Max damage hit 52: 15% CB for 2200 hp, 26% SoS for 2307 HP Average total: 2253.5 hp Max damage hit 54: 14% CB for 2378 hp, 25% SoS for 2400 hp Average total: 2389 hp Max damage hit 56: 14% CB for 2378 hp, 25% SoS for 2400 hp Average total: 2389 hp Max damage hit 58: 14% CB for 2378 hp, 24% SoS for 2500 hp Average total: 2439 hp Greater Vocaration: Water focused: Max damage hit 52: 11% CB for 3000 hp, 22% SoS for 2727.27 hp Average total: 2863.63 hp Max damage hit 54: 12% CB for 2775 hp, 21% SoS for 2857.14 hp Average total: 2816.07 hp Max damage hit 56: 12% CB for 2775 hp, 21% SoS for 2857.14 hp Average total: 2816.07 hp Max damage hit 58: 11% CB for 3000 hp, 20% SoS for 3000 hp Average total: 3000 hp Max damage hit 60: 12% CB for 2775 hp, 20% SoS for 3000 hp Average total: 2887.5 On water we see a range of 2250 - 2440 unfocused hp which is close to the numbers on the wiki (2300-2500). The website that devs used to retune the pets mysteriously lacks the numbers for the Greater Vocaration pets, minus Fire for some reason. The focused pet ranges from 2860 - 2900 hp, and the average difference between them is 532, I got this number by averaging the ranks together and subtracting the difference. It comes to a 22.7% increase in health which is within the margin of error for the expected increase of 25% that all focus items are supposed to have. So while the focus staves don't remove the randomness of the pets they truly increase their effectiveness by removing the bottom rank and adding a new top rank, thus increasing the average DPS and HP's you will summon each, it also increases the average level which is probably more important than the other statistics. We knew to always use the staves but you can't ignore the math here. The water pets backstab and cold damage numbers on the wiki I have not verified at this time. Greater Vocaration: Air unfocused Max damage hit 50: 14% CB for 2378 hp, 24% SoS for 2500 hp Average total: 2439 Max damage hit 52: 12% CB for 2775 hp, 24% SoS for 2500 hp Average total: 2637.5 Max damage hit 54: 13% CB for 2561.5 hp, 22% SoS for 2727 hp Average total: 2644.4 hp Max damage hit 56: 13% CB for 2561.5 hp, 23% SoS for 2608 hp Average total: 2585.1 hp Max damage hit 58: 13% CB for 2561.5 hp, 21% SoS for 2857.14 hp Average total: 2709.3 hp Greater Vocaration: Air focused Max damage hit 52: 12% CB for 2775 hp, 20% SoS for 3000 hp Average total: 2887.5 hp Max damage hit 54: 12% CB for 2775 hp, 19% SoS for 3157.8 hp Average total: 2966.45 hp Max damage hit 56: 11% CB for 3027.25 hp, 19% SoS for 3157.8 hp Average total: 3092.53 hp Max damage hit 58: 11% CB for 3027.25 hp, 20% SoS for 3000 hp Average total: 3013.62 hp Max damage hit 60: 11% CB for 3027.25 hp, 19% SoS for 3157.8 hp Average total: 3092.52 hp On the Air pets we start with a range of 2440 - 2710 hp which is very close to the wiki's estimated 2400-2600 and again I'd say within the margin of error. The focused pet has 2775-3090 hp with an average increase of 407 or 15.5% which is below what we expected, but again could just be the margin of error or rounding error due to my choice of cinder bolt as a nuke. I feel like the shock of swords numbers are more accurate. I've confirmed the flying kick, and stun proc numbers on the wiki, adding this for posterity's sake. TLDR: This testing was to confirm that the wiki information was correct and we found it to be pretty close. A recent post here made me realize that a lot of the info there was pretty out of date at this point. More testing on the Vocarate and Greater Conjuration lines is needed to confirm but that'll have to wait.
