Hi Telin, between this and all the evidence here:
https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...urefall&page=2

Is there a reason that these starting locations/binds haven't been changed yet??
No reason just isn’t highest priority, and it’s not the simplest of changes. It’s a goal to get it in by green launch.

One thing we need before implementing is the exact location and facing if possible of where players initially spawned in classic. It may have changed over the years.

For Rangers, the spawn is the same as the succor point 0,0 facing NW

For the Druids, the spawn is inside their tree, the same as the TSS spell Zephyr: Surefall Glade:

-209,-391,9 facing South

I went through everyone's conversations ever. It's possible that at launch day itself the spawn points weren't in SFG, because a lot of stuff was missing everywhere, like guildmasters and shit. But if so, this was fixed right away because tons of people who claim to have created characters very early on remember Rangers coming alive next to the guild, facing the water, and the Druids remember starting inside the tree.

Coincidentally, both of those locations share the same loc as the two spells above, which leads me to believe they just recycled those coordinates because both locations involve people appearing in the zone suddenly and facing some direction.

So I don't have proof proof but these seem really likely.

Does anyone have the bind point loc in qhills? That's the one I can't seem to find anywhere.

half elf karana ranger has no newbie note on Green server.
half elf karana ranger i created on blue ~1-2 weeks ago had a newbie note (and received Mud Stained Tunic* turning it in)

Was the removal of the newbie note intentional?

Not intentional, it’s just a separate section, working on it tonight.
