I have done this quest, its rather punishing, the PH alone is on a several hour respawn so from that fact alone no, it's not like every classic item.

75 hps/mana on an item is not common in Kunark at all, at least not one as obtainable as the Hiero cloak; thats why it's really not all that great use of time camping this but to each their own.

This quest sucks don't do it. Actually do the quest. It might be the straw that breaks your EQ addiction and wakes you up to all 2020 has to offer.

It's a really cool piece of equipment and bragging rights but is it really worth the time investment? I've done it before and while I was happy to have it, I regret putting that much time into it.

Assuming you can get one, sure. I'd agree. However, until Kunark releases, the only arguably better back slot item for a cleric or pally is going to be a White Dragonscale Cloak. Given what is needed to get one, it's very possible you would spend less time on an Aegis of Life, as crazy as that sounds.

There will be very few White Dragonscale Cloaks on Green.

That item isnt even worth considering tbh and a bad comparison to a perma farmed uncommon drop ( Hiero Cloak) thatll be sold every week after a short while.

I won't call it a bad item for the era (that's too much of a hot take for me), but it's an item that's absolutely not worth the average amount of time required to obtain it. You can live without a few AC or a few points of Wisdom. The same time spent doing other activities, even X hours spent simply farming platinum, will in virtually all cases provide more benefit. If you're determined to do it, be prepared to maintain a 24 hour presence and set your clock to the placeholder spawns. If you don't do that you'll quite often lose the camp to someone who's willing to do so. Aside from the rare lucky few, most players take a week or so to so this, sometimes more.

Not worth it by any means since they nerfed the spawn rates. Investing 100's of hours for a marginal mana boost is ridiculous when you could be farming items that make you rich in game, or more powerful like manastone, instead. Unless you can chance upon it.

I spent a week there once and saw 5 Undead Grimrots.

Thankfully, none rotted but dont let that happen to you!
