Nostalgia? Some people never stopped playing eq to experience this "nostalgia" thing. Even after eq live went all stupid, the emu project started up shortly before as the refuge from SOE's fail live servers (at least for those of us that didn't run off to WoW). Even when they shut down the last remaining good server, the mac server (was stuck in time), the same game style was already running on the emu and with a healthy population, and that before p99 was around. Now for p99, it offers improvements over the general list of emu's, so yet another worthy server for us to keep playing on. And with the history of the emu project, even more play-worthy server will eventually come on-line, providing many years of game-play for us old eq players. Nostalgia? meh

For most people its the allure of joining the back of a queue and moving slowly to the front.

Server chat is rife at the moment with knocking the "red" (PvP) server and trying to make it seem like a hostile place to play.

Please treat the trolls accordingly.
Looks like the only one knocking servers around here is you!

I'm not knocking anything but it seems like an accusation of telling me I'm trolling in a thread of the same theme [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Camping/queueing/TunnelQuesting/rule lawyering all part of the P99 fabric pals, we all love it...apparently.

He's british, he knows how to queue.
P99 is a pretty good Britain simulator. I like to play EQ on that rare occasion when the weather is too nice to go outside. Almost thirty years of work have gone in to this greyish English pallor and I am not going to risk it now! Fortunately lots of arctic wind and rain at the moment as befits summer.

Hurrah for Britain!

I guess TunnelQuest does capture a certain market vibe here and we do like to gamble [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Like anywhere else I suppose, we play more in the winter when the weather is cold/wet/both.

If you didn't rush you wouldn't burn out.

Nothing better out there.

And nostalgia's got nothing to do with it.
