listen I've had my own 2 year vacation to get off methadone too. I just find his lying about it to be a little gross. If I were to believe the lie (that he was unaware of the danger of benzos) then he is completely unqualified to talk psych. But obviously, he's not tellin the truth. I feel like you have a personal vendetta against JP because he refused to call people by their preferred pronouns. Even though he did publicly admit that he probably would do it, he just didn’t like the Canadian government passing a law that forced him to do so.

He’s a lot smarter, or has a lot more common sense than a lot of his naysayers give him credit for.

also he calls ppl who present fem by their proper pronouns (as per video ive seen), so i dont have much of a beef with him in that respect. You are correct, though, that he gained his fame by positioning himself very strategically (dog whistling) on that issue . . .

he's probably nice enough, for a fulla shit careerist. it's the fact that people confuse him for an intellectual that triggers me really.
