Quest Issue: Sparring Armor Question...Again

I found a few threads from 2010 and 2011ish that say this quest was bugged but subsequently fixed, so I'm wondering if I messed this up.
I got the trainer bag from Mugruk, no problem.

Then, I went to tailor the trainer bag and granite pebbles in the E.Cab Loom. It ate all my stuff - the training bag husk and three I stacked granite pebbles.
Did I do this wrong? If so, what should I have done. Trying get this done but I'm not sure it's worth the struggle other than the fact that I'm still getting exp off these mobs for the items.

Thanks for any advice. I feel stupid since, Mugrok said combine in sewing kit, and I figured the loom would work bc I didn't have one.

Sorry: typo, UNSTACKED granite pebbles. I did not stack the granite pebbles. Not sure if that makes a difference, or if it's the loom (that I shouldn't have used it). Thanks again for any help/guidance.

D'oh! Forgive my oversight! I swear I read that like a hundred times. Guess it took 101. Thanks for pointing that out, Doc! Well, that stinks but hey, I still got the exp for killing mobs. No harm, no foul. See you all in Norrath!

Seems very debated there but I may attempt this again and if it fails again, so be it. It will help work on my sneak at any rate. Just got it so I have to train up!
At any rate, I don't think I'll be getting reimbursed for the lost items. LOL
