Pet names
How are they generated?
Random? Is there a pet name list the system uses? Do all pet classes draw from the same list? Is it possible for the PC and pet to ever have the same name? Anyone know? Thanks.

there is a list.
names pulled randomly from it. all pet classes draw from the same list. I had a friend who named his enchanter Kabantik [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I have played all of the pet classes... I must say that pet names are so silly and so sound alike, I would have never noticed whenever necro could never get a Jabober, while mage could never summon Zontik....
Would be more realistic if mage would get pets named like "Earthshaker", or "Icestrom", while necro would get "Bonecraker" and "Fleshripper" etc. And be completely unclassic [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Is there something in the code Nilbog linked that prevents the PC and pet from having the same name? Doesn't look like it but its pretty much greek to me...

No, but if there is a PC in zone and someone summons a pet with the same name the PC will get booted from the zone. Kinda funny.

If so, does that mean if a PC ever did summon their own pet with their same name they would crash? PS: Thanks Nilbog for the link and everyone for the info.
