Default Damage Shields [Not what you think!]

I have noticed over the last few weeks and even tested it by just standing next to the mob, that when it is rooted and it hits you the damage shield acts like a nuke and has a chance to break the root.

Ive gotten to the point where I time the mobs hits and my root cast time so the second root lands its still going through delay so I can move and root sticks, otherwise everytime it hits there is a good chance damage shield will break the root.

That's very likely because DS counts as non-melee damage and the game isn't differentiating it from a nuke because of that.

Bump in hopes of dev reply, this is very annoying when trying to root multiple adds. You might say click DS off, but druids self AC/DS buff is very nice, shouldnt have to lower our AC when we're in a situation getting hit as is.

Damage shields should be treated as neutral melee damage, not spell damage (which is why I believe root is being broken)

I'd sell my left nut to have my damage shield last more than 2 minutes on my mage.

Level 32 mage, 13 damage shield, 2 minutes.

Might as well delete it from my spellbook.

Duration: 9.4 mins @L28 to 15.0 mins @L47 (From Allakhazam) Inferno Shield (Level 29)

A fix has been coded for damage shields to no longer break root. And I think I figured out the duration issues earlier today. I have to run some tests, but if they go well, I am shooting to have a fix put together by the weekend.

Seriously if damage shield duration is fixed you can quite literally count on a donation hitting the server right after that fix hits live.
