Default Game deteriorating

The game used to always run fine for me... All of a sudden the game got really choppy when I have logs on. Then the mouse look stopped working, mouse control is activated and sometimes it moves but it's all choppy and unreliable. Now as well I can't right click items to see stats / item charges. Anyone know what's causing this? It basically all started happening a few weeks ago, PC has been restarted and even shut down for the entire memorial day weekend, came back and the issues are persisting.

Your log file may be too big, and is causing at least some of your problems if not all of them.

Delete or rename your current log file and let the client make a new one.

Had cleaned out log files a little while ago, was like 3 gigs of files, just deleted the whole folder to make sure and nope it's some different issue.

Some more information. right at the beginning when I load in it will let me look around with mouse look at then it will keep spamming you cannot loot this corpse at this time. Also right when I loaded the game I was able to right click a piece of gear for about 2 seconds and then I kept getting that same corpse loot spam. But after camping to log in screen and coming back it still wouldn't let me right click to inspect an item.

You sort of gloss over this, but it's potentially critical: if you turn logs off does the game work normally?

Seems to mostly be a holding down right mouse button issue, keeps considering enemies as well instead of using the mouse-look. Only c is bound to consider on my keybinds. Tried resetting them and then changing back. Getting same issue. The FPS issue with logs seems to be a different issue. And when I turn off logs it sorts itself out.

My computer started doing this about 2 weeks ago after a wonderful "required" windows update. I had to disable search indexing, windows anti virus, AND pause windows updates. Low and behold the game works fine now. Though I can't go digging through my hard drive without having to wait for it to index.
Superfetch might also be a culprit.

I suspect my issue is mostly due to a slowly failing hard drive but I have yet to prove it since I only have issue when anti virus is scanning or Windows update is installing during the joke that is "active hours"

I only throw this out there because everquest seems to be the only program that hangs when these other 3 processes are at work. My other higher end games have zero lag or hangs or freezes
