I play on UO second age which is just vanilla UO second age era, but nobody plays anymore [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] I still log in to refresh my keeps because sunk costs

I played on a couple emulated UO servers over the years and I havnt ever got one that kept my attention more than a few months. Long time Great Lakes player here

Yeah I like second age cause it's just classic vanilla UO, but with such a low pop it's just depressing to play [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Meanwhile there are custom servers with actual populations but i hate all the neon beetles and weird lizard mounts and people's awful custom house designs all over the place. A vanilla server with a pop around 1000 would be amazing but that's never gonna happen sadly.

But OSI had neon hair, neon robes, the light bulb stick, nightmares, kirins, etc.. The fact that your comp will freeze running across ice when you hit a keep or castle. It was always there, we just chose to ignore it. The flags on peoples roofs made of cloth arrangements, etc.

Outlands. Its not like, OSI. Its better.

I think some of that stuff was post-second age. Kirins at least. Nightmares I'm down with, it's just a cool dark horse, not a wacky space lizard. Neon hair and neon robes I think are post second age. That true black dyetub hack that they allowed to remain in game was kind of terrible though.

But I'm totally down to give outlands a shot I've heard good things.
