EU is an organisation based around freedom of trade and movement between it’s members (as well as protecting citizen rights). From what I understand, NATO is orientated primarily on military treaties.

They seem to have different roles. Please explain the overlap and how redundancy would be a bad thing? Surely if what you say is true, that they are comparable in role, redundancy gives resilience against either failing?

How is this redundancy then? As a European this diffusion of power is a good thing.

It keeps dodgy US standards out of Europe but still provides access to their military. It also stops the militarisation of the EU which is something many Europeans are against (and was a factor in Brexit).

Thats not really true at all?

Europe has a huge amount of weapon tech. It’s just devolved from EU and instead unified under NATO and UN so it can work well with the US and other countries.
