We just recently learned that trees talk (and we don’t care) therefore if there was some truly extraterrestrial intelligence the chance of us observing it and registering that observation as one that indicated “intelligent” life that means life that is intelligible to us, is unlikely.

But it would be great if there were other big goo sacks running around out there doing stuff.
