Default Newbie Iksar Duo

A friend of mine from work and I will be starting on blue soon (once our IP exception gets approved hopefully). He loves the Iksar shaman so I was curious what you all thought would be the best class to go with him. I’m thinking a necromancer would be fun and pretty low risk with the pair of us but SK/Monk would probably work too. We are both brand new so we’ll be untwinked (unless someone wants to adopt us).

Thanks!

He’s not a roommate, we just work together and will be on the same WiFi if we play together over our lunch break.

Back in the day I played a druid and my two roommates played monk and warrior and it was a real pain in the ass for us. I couldn’t really heal the warrior as we leveled up and our DPS wasn’t great.

How long is your lunch break that you can get something done in EQ?

Oh. So you don't actually have time to get anything done! Gotcha :P

Anyhow, if you really wanna stick with Iksar, I'd suggest

Shaman/Monk
Shaman/SK

Those are the two tried and true duo set ups.

Necro/Necro can be fun too, and Necro/Monk can pull off some interesting things.

Necro/Sham is a super powerful duo. Some of the fastest duo XP I've ever had was that combo.

I think that might be the one we'll do. Shaman buffs on a necro pet sound pretty nice.

If he is definitely playing iksar shaman and you are playing an iksar you can't really go wrong with any of those classes, but necro would be my choice. Both classes offer a lot of utility and they go very well together. Each has it's own unique way to convert hp into mana and shaman will eventually get hp regen buffs that help a lot. It's a duo that you should be able to log in and start killing pretty quickly so that you can actually advance during your lunch break.
