Default Playing p99 self earned is a blast.

Since the launch of green I've been leveling a cleric slowly to 60. I'm currently at level 51. I've been playing a 99% self earned play style where all my loot must be looted from mobs and not bought from players. This has forced to me to revisit or go super deep in dungeons and because I'm a cleric I can't solo very much so I've gotten very used to making little rag tag groups and diving deep in places. Its been really fun and I've enjoyed it a lot more then the normal crushbone, unrest, mistmoore, com etc leveling path I've done in the in past.

In the past I would just get a few thousand plat and just buy like a full set of gear I would use for like 40 levels. Made the gearing in the lower levels sort of boring but being self earn only has made for a lot more tiny wins on my way to 60.

Here are my few highlight items as of late:

https://wiki.project1999.com/Prophecy_Scroll - Awesome full group in TOFS was a blast

https://wiki.project1999.com/Adamantite_Epaulets - Got solo. Never went to lguk before and doing this solo was a rush. Not a hard camp once cleared but with less then ideal wisdom (176) my mana pool made this hard.

https://wiki.project1999.com/Bonethunder_Staff - Used this to solo scarecrows in wk and all over befallen. Went anon for a while and pretended to be a paladin [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Its really made the green experience awesome and would highly recommend.

I really enjoy the self found concept, but people who do solo self found are a breed apart. That’s one I’ve never managed to get into. I do really like the self found concept though and currently working on a SK alt on green as a self found toon.

I love this idea and plan to do this - except will buy player-made items e.g. Banded, Fire Wedding Rings, etc - when I roll my Erudite SK.

Buying jewelry is fine on self found being as how only one class can enchant the metal. Could follow rules such that, you can't buy it until you get to the level an enchanter could enchant the metal.

If we just recycle we can all play Self-Found again and actually get groups to get some of those items.

I get your point with Blacksmithing, and will now make my own armour. Snap for Tailoring. Not possible with Jewelry, so will happily buy player-made Jewelry - although, if said Jewelry requires drops I will need to provide them myself.
