Question for Forum Admins (Membership numbers)
I was playing around today on the forums and I came across an interesting question:
On the homepage the "newest member" is listed as "nipslan" (welcome nipslan!). When I click on his name URL of his account page is: https://www.project1999.com/forums/member.php?u=183803 The u=183803 denotes (afaik) the number of his account...meaning that he is the 183,803rd person to make a forum account on the p99 forums. My number, for example, is 823. Nilbog is 3. Rogean is 1. The total number of members is 111,405 (this is found on the homepage). What is the gap between 183,803 (nipslan) and 111,405 (total members). Are the missing 72,398 accounts all banned? | ||

The amount of fake profiles/comments that get made by robots or paid shills to advertise anything and everything for page clicks is probably insane. I used to work for an advertiser and the more traffic a webpage has, the higher banner-advertisers will pay for space on that page. If you need money and have shitty content, you need to trick people into visiting your site to survive. (And there's also those awful scam-type comments about "I joined X-company and now I work my dream job FROM HOME, making $500 PER WEEK! Click my link and you can too!"). 72,398 bullshit spammers banned? Good.
