I always wished EQ would have a switch to allow group leader to share group experience equally or not so that hybrids weren't excluded simply because of the exp penalty. So Troll SK joins a group of Halflings, sure they may gain a couple levels when he only gains one, but at least he got into the group in the first place.

Hybrids are only bringing a 6-11% penalty to the group. Is it worth it? Do they make your group 6-11% more efficient? Depends on the needs of the group. A good bard or tank or puller might.

As I said, it depends on the needs of the group.

I'm just dividing the class penalties by 6, but it's really not that simple and that approach honestly paints hybrids in a worse light than they are. This post is much more accurate https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...d.php?t=334590
One take away is you may want the players with exp penalties to be on the lower level range for the group.

Someone 3+ levels higher takes more exp than a hybrid of equal level. Remember that.
Each group member you add takes a cut of the exp, but you get a 2% exp bonus. Your share of the split depends on total exp from level 1 for that character. Whoever has more total exp takes a bigger cut.
