There's no intrinsic value to items. There's a relative value before and after the raid changes. I'm not disagreeing or agreeing with increased variance timers because it doesn't really affect me, just you're asking to increase variance to preserve the relative value of items based on a preference for the values prior to the new schedule.

Someone needs to start gerrymandering what's considered the "vicinity of a raid mob." Even then it seems to be like guilds are just going to camp out, fully buffed, at the closest possible location to the raid mob.
