NPC Spawn Issue: The Qeynos Banker faction change.

Didn't occur until Luclin/Post-Luclin. First only Dun and Eracon Krengon were put on "Banker" faction and not until 2003. Eventually, the Qeynos bankers (Copperholds)... and way later, all bankers were moved from this faction to Beta Neutral.

SOE's dumbing down of certain factions didn't start in our classic P99 eras.

Just turned in the poster to Eracon and got -CoalitionofTradefolkIll, -HalloftheEbonMask, -CircleofUnseenHands, +ShamenofJustic, +MerchantsofHalas. 3 Negatives 2 Positives. The faction hit should only be +Banker according to that.

Also now that I'm checking further Dun, Eracon the bankers AND all of the merchants in South Qeynos are now on same (different from before and from North Qeynos Merchants of Qeynos.)

Are they on Coalition of Tradefolk now?

What probably happened was the Jinkus hand in faction got mistakenly copied to the Eracon hand in part of the quest.

The second hand in for Jinkus you mean?

The first one (to get the poster) is positive Wolves of the North, Shamen of Justice, Steel Warriors, Merchants of Halas, Negative Order of White Rose (Halas Rogues).

I'm guessing you mean the return to Halas for the conclusion, though.

I missed that 2000 post - so the faction was in the database then, at least from this poster turn in (if fixed.) The question is was it implemented/anyone actually on it? There's already one report of a teir'dal on our server http://www.project1999.com/forums/sh...25&postcount=1 who is SCOWLING to all of these guys now - not indifferent.

Also, it isn't limited to these 4 NPCs... when I song them from amiably to warmly so too do most of the South Qeynos merchant go from Amiable to Warmly. I think that the majority of the non-guild merchants here are still supposed to be on Merchants of Qeynos - were they tossed onto Banker as well here? Fish and his barmaid are still on Merchants of Qeynos. McNeal in the back is on a different faction from any of them as well. There
really does seem to be some broken faction here from the last patch.

Hans and Menkes are still on the same faction (QeynosCitizen.)

As for the first post I didn't consider it to be a good source. By even early '02 there were already many factions in the works - one post in that thread even states that killing gnolls raised Qeynos Citizen - which was always an obscure, difficult faction to raise and only had those two NPCs on it (there MIGHT have been one other one I'm forgetting.) EDIT: Oh yes Marlin Bizmite is also a Qeynos Citizen - and correctly so here as well.

Oh yes and Edvard Tommels, of course. He is - correctly - on the same Qeynos Citizen faction as well; Ton Firepride is correctly on Corrupt Guards of Qeynos.

Investigator seems to be on a Antonius Bayle along with Donally Stultz which is spot on, as well! Glad to see these quests here.

Whew, ok I went around singing faction to figure out who all was affected by this patch. We can continue to research and see if Dun, Eracon Klengan and the Copperholds are supposed to be on Banker right now however I am fairly certain that changing all of these other merchants to Banker was unintentional.

Ah... not sure how that happened. If you do the same query for the Copperholds, Dun and Eracon Klengon you'll find they are on CitizensofQeynos now too. None of this should be though.

All NPCs on CitizensofQeynos need to be moved back to Merchants of Qeynos EXCEPT

Fesse_Bontex should be on KnightsofThunder
Rabley_Trumend should be on SteelWarriors

Oriyame_Nelafre moved from QeynosCitizen to KnightsofThunder

Following also need to be moved off of CitizensofQeynos - they were on MerchantsofQeynos prior to patch.

Now, as far as who SHOULD be on Citizen goes we have the following

Qeynos Aqueducts-

They are all already on QeynosCitizen. CitizensofQeynos seems to be a duplicate faction. You will see people saying that killing the beggar raised citizens of qeynos, and also see someone else saying within the same timeline it was QeynosCitizen.

Both pages in that timeline will say that Menkes Tabolet's quests raises that faction. Here on P99 he gives QeynosCitizen faction hits for his quests, and all of the proper NPCs are already on QeynosCitizen (except for Oriyame_Nelafre who belongs on KnightsofThunder. So "Citizens of Qeynos" should even exist here.

Do you have a means of seeing what they were prior to the last patch? They were all Ally to me so I'm 90% sure they were all on Merchants of Qeynos but I suppose they could've been on guard faction as well - though that makes less sense.
