There is no legitimate competition on the internet

Just occurred to me that there is literally zero legitimate gaming competition on the internet. The top percentage are cheating lying hacking whatever it might be, the only variable is how large the top percentage is. The only way to compete is to be the best cheater. It renders internet competitive gaming completely pointless in my opinion. It also says something profound about humanity.

The resources aren't real, so there's no real competition. It's like playing Cowboys and Indians. It's fun to pretend, but at the end of the day you're still a white suburbanite kid who is going to be late for dinner.

You pretend to work to get pretend money to buy things for pretend status in our pretend civilization. It's all really real, for sure, but a few nukes will change that pretty darn quick. I've played Fallout. I know how this ends.
