If this was classic, then this is a client issue and may not be an easy fix. I am not familiar on where sound effects are assigned to races.

Do we have proof that pixie tricksters made a "twilight" noise like the faeries do. I killed a bazillion of those pixies over the years but I don't recall hearing that twinkling back in classic with the pixies. i still recall being mesmerized by the first faerie that passed me by and I followed her around for like an hour.

I remember only the faeries doing it not the pixies but this is 20 years ago so I can't neccessarily be trusted. I just remember it being kind of special when a faerie was going by in GFay

Uthgaard may be the poster to speak to about this.

He seems familiar with how Titanium client and modern Windows OS (mis)handle midi emitters and has devised a number of work arounds to get sounds working properly without cutting in/out.

See the entire thread but particularly this post:

The spotty music along the West Karana shoreline was the precise thing is that made me decide to start the overhaul.

The titanium client currently only supports spherical emitters of a given radius. So I came up with some fancy math in order to have music play constantly from from one end of the zone to the other, limited only to the shoreline, by basically making a massive sphere far outside of the zone itself, so that the sphere's edge blanketed the shoreline in exactly the right places.

This is demonstrated at the beginning of the video, followed by a stroll down the shoreline to show that the music successfully plays in all the right places - and nowhere else.

Enjoy
