An unknown error occurred while trying to join the server

I was playing around 2:30am CST and the server list was weird with many locked servers, but now I cannot find any servers listed. Should I re-install?

update at 11:06am CST: working now and I did nothing to fix it.

So I may have found the problem and a solution, Windows defender updated at 5:13pm pst. I went into defender and added an exclusion for the Sony folder where EQ is held and rebooted. Mine is now working. Its under Defender >>> Virus Threat protection settings >> manage settings >>> exclusions. This is where you want to add your install folder to the exception. Reboot and give it a shot

Same here happening to me.. shutdown restarted the game, restarted my cp, restarted my internet.. nothing worked

Same. unknown error, though if you try enough times i have also seen a 'timeout'
