Default Can Paladins raid?

Hi all! I was wondering if Paladins are able to get into raids, or if raiding classes are pretty strict.

Yes, they can raid. Actually, planar gear should be easily obtainable due to not much competition. They are an acceptable off-tank and can spot heal as necessary.

Paladins are one of the core raiding classes, most raids are about 30 percent Paladins, 60 percent Rangers and 10 percent clerics.

I have been told I will be able to raid on my Paladin. Was part of the reason why I stuck with it. 96% rez, no gear disputes (lack of pallys), a tank that can heal, and a class that has the coolest epic in game.

Paladin's have three roles in a raid setting:

1. Adding an extra 200 HP buff to the raid
2. Rampage tanking (DA/DB spam and HoTs)
3. Emergency heals and resses

EQ doesn't have hard limits on raid sizes during this game era. As such, everybody gets to raid. Whether or not you're useful to that raid is another story. Paladins are not a key raiding class.

People won't actively recruit them for raiding guilds but they are fairly beneficial. They can off tank, they can patch heal pretty well at 57. Also, LoH can and has saved raids.

They will also be one of the classes that benefits more than most from Velious.
