Default Crashing after every camp out

Every time I camp or /q or get disconnected and end up at server select, I cannot log back in or even close the program without receiving an application error ("the memory could not be read") and crashing.

Started happening about a week or so ago; no idea what the culprit is.

I fixed this by the following:

1) Set compatibility mode on EQ (WinXP SP3)
2) Run the app as Admin

Now I don't crash on camping anymore.

Note: I run Windows 10

How exactly do you set the compatibility mode? I run Win 10 and can't find how to do this.

Thanks.

Right click your EQ icon that you use to open the game. Click the Compatability tab. Check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" Then select windows XP Service pack 2 or 3. I have Service pack 2 selected, but I'm sure 3 would work just the same.
