Emulators make sense, sure. But there is just something about collecting the games that I find enjoyable.
Emulators are bad. Holding the old classic controller(s) and playing on an old tube TV is the way. CRT will give a way better retro experience.

Find a Sony Trinitron KV-Series and you're good to go.

nah a raspberry pi + Xbox controller is the way to go.

The Trinitrons are nice, but really anything with a decent shadow mask looks great imo:
