Default Weird sky textures

For some reason my sky is always solid grey or black. I've messed with the in-game video settings but it hasn't seemed to help. Anyone have suggestions? I miss the blue sky.

Not sure what settings you messed with, but my first guess is that "Sky Type" is set to "Off". If this is the case set it to "Simple" or "Complex".

Tried updating with the newer textures, turning shading and vertices on and off....still no joy. Any other suggestions? Maybe an eqclient setting?

I can't remember, but maybe it has something to do with your clip plane being turned all the way down? That sounds crazy now that I type it, but I figure it's worth a try.
