Default Color/Brightness of Monitor Increases After Game Is Closed

I have this minor problem of the color and brightness of my monitor is increased during and after I run Everquest. It doesn't affect anything in the game, but on the regular desktop and other programs it does. I can fix it by rebooting, but if there's a solution that's quicker than a reboot I would be glad to know of it.

I have had the same issue for a long time, I currently run windows 10. Still happened when I ran windows 8 before. I do run in windowed mode, because game will crash if I don't.

the gamma in everquest controls your computers gamma - or something like that. If you camp out instead of using /quit it should change it back

Camping makes no difference for me or not, if I camp, game crashes 90% of the time. Brightness is still messed up. If I can get the game to log out and quit properly my brightness is fine.

Yeah, I almost always camp out. Same result of messed up brightness.

The game has always done this to me as well -- would be curious if anyone has a fix.

What type of video cards are you guys using? You can go into your video card's control panel software (catalyst or geforce experience thingy) and there should be an option for Windows to control the gamma rather than the application.

In case anyone else comes across this post, if this happens to you on Windows 10, just click Start -> Settings -> System and your gamma will just automagically correct itself.

I've used this to cheat at other dark games.
