I think it's related to guild size. The larger guilds can field a vindi force at any time of the day. And at times it has been a point of contention for some because it is a quick and easy source of dkp (attend or fall behind).

There are times when even riot / vanq struggle with vindi depending time of day.

yah, i was going to say the same thing.

now that the top raid guilds have become such zergs, they don't have much trouble fielding a party to kill vindi most times of the day.

and someone always has an alt who wants a bp or boots. plus there's a steady stream of new members who never had access to these items before. so there's always demand + the ability.

Eh, I think Vindi is the draft mob. But it isn't just killing Vindi. You also have to have CSR's blessing, e.g., see Seal Team's attempt to join the draft after killing Vindi.

I don't think keeping people out of the draft is on anyone's mind.

They just want dkp and loot. Too many mouths to feed.

You guys realize that this whole thing is a lot less dumb with PVP right?

Step 1: classic server resets randomly and mysteriously like LIVE therefore no easily spaced raid targets for the overpowered guild.

Step 2: Take your shit guilds full force to whatever target you want and fight for it.

Step 3: Everquest no longer is a piece of shit game, it is actually fun.

It also comes into play with weak targets like lodi and vindi where with PVP enabled a small size guild can take their full force and claim these targets from larger better at FTE guilds who can't muster their entire force for weak targets since they have raiding 7 nights a week for more important mobs.

Game works better 1000% for people who actually want to play the game.

I didn't even realize this is what you were insinuating when you asked the question. But that would be an absurd amount of work for essentially no gain. Each draftee would lose like half a kill during draft week per additional member guild.
