Default Best treasure hunting class

Which class is the best at soloing named mobs that drop good, useful loot?

Necro then shaman.

Maybe mage.

After that druid for low levels, then ranger for fun if you are bored and have the money. Sometimes wizard.

enchanters kill pretty much everything

Shamans go for some bigger game out in the wild

and necro's clean up in the lower level dungeons

Def not imo, the enchanter is paper thin compared, so you'd think so. But when you're trying to torp yourself and a mob starts running and you're walking slow and you're about to agro the room next to you, and then you see an enchanter just running around the dungeon and he roots your mob for you while you're fat ass is trying to get through the door.

you change your mind about which one is easier.

but that's my experience lol

The enchanter is just super well suited for killing things saftely, and the shaman is super well suited for just being a big beast.

But even big beasts get killed by the raid (adds)

Shaman --> you got 1. slow enemy 2. haste for pet 3. stat buffs and hp buffs 4. regen line 5. poison and disease dots 6. nukes (JBB free mana nuke) 7. can weer fungi for extra regen

"Can sham achieve close to the same results as ench but with much less stress / anxiety?" Yes. And when its an off hour and no healers around, you got your own heals.

Depends on what you want to farm.

Enchanters are the best solo class overall due to their vast utility and relatively cheap cost. You just need to spend cash on a few big spells and you are good to go with cheap CHA, INT, and HP gear. As you point out, however, they will be a higher stress class overall.

Shamans can solo things that Enchanters cannot due to their ability to tank extremely well. But they are quite expensive to play. Torpor alone will cost you around 80k. Overall Shamans are probably the second best solo class if they have all of their spells at level 60.

Necros can solo naked, and don't have many expensive spells. But they are more limited in terms of which zones they really shine. These are undead zones, or zones with good undead monsters to charm. They can still do well in non undead zones, but they won't be able to do a lot of the high end content that Enchanters or Shamans can do.

Necromancer is the safest bet if you want to play a character that is cheap to build, easy to play, and relatively low stress due to Feign Death and Harmshield. They can certainly farm well enough to finance another toon.

The cost of shaman spells and epic on the player market is real testament to the shaman's ability to hunt treasure.

They are priced at a point that the market can *bear*.
