Forum Account Creation Not Working?

One of my friends is trying to set up Project 1999 as well and is stuck at the forum creation part. He's not receiving the email to validate his registration. I also tried to create him an account on another gmail address and also didn't receive the email when I tried that. It was working for me a couple days ago when I created this account. Wondering if there are any issues going on with the email or if anyone else is running into this?

Just as a note we made sure to check spam/junk folders and all that. We're both definitely not receiving the account confirmation email.
