Cannot attach debugger?

Hello,

I just completed the installation I was told to be able to play P99 and I keep getting a window that says "Cannot attach debugger while playing Project 1999. When I hit okay it gives me "The application was unable to start correctly (0x0000142). How do I get passed this so I can play? Thank you for any help.
