Default Power Leveling with a Wizard?

Getting a friend into EQ, we level on a monk/shammy duo and thinking about starting up ench/druid next, but my druid will be a bit higher level.

Epic Wizard is my only 60, just wondering if there's any creative things I can do to powerlevel him? I know we have an abysmal damage shield, though for low levels 5 damage isn't nothing.

Was thinking maybe some sort of pull a bunch of mobs to a zoneline, aoe them to very low life with low level AOE's, then zone and let him kill them all?

Any other clever ideas?

It’s not a great setup. I’d probably root stuff, let your buddy take a single hit so the animation starts attacking and quickly run into range so your wiz can tank. Let the animation KS your friend (or their charmed pet past level 12). I’d think you could take decent a hits against high 20’s low 30’s stuff before the damage is problematic. Especially with the epic rune.

Really with charm just you as a support person to pull and root would be handy. Pulling trivial greens not having to lull or CC is pretty easy Enchanting.

Your two damage shields do stack, so you can do 21 per hit.

25hp/bandage is handy at lower level.

Your sword pet can be mana reclaimed with a mage focus clicky, just make sure it doesn’t take a hit and you reclaim energy before it dies.

You can help by orchestrating the pulls and CCing. Being high level drastically reduces unwanted adds.

I’ve never casted the DS’ but the wiki is very wrong if that’s the case, it says 2+5.

Definitely not optimal and really annoying.

Bind to where you are hunting if it isn't by a zone line.

Attach an appropriate nuke to bring the mob to below flee level (or a quad) to low.

Damage NPCs to near dead, make sure he gets hits on all.

Port or zone. Have him finish them off.

Port back or zone back.

Rinse and repeat.

Early levels wiz can PL by keeping rune + damage shield up and rooting mobs and standing closer so that the rooted mob hits the wiz not the friend. Friend just needs to hit the target once before it dies to damage shield.

Spamming flux staff might also out aggro the friend in place of root.

You can increase the chance of the target to hit you and eat damage shield by spamming sit.

This is going to lose effectiveness fast, though, as the damage shield is not very high, and the wizard cannot take a lot of hits. Buying damage shield pots will help.

Later levels wiz can lower mob health and zone while the friend is fighting it. Still going to be hard if friend takes damage or timing is not precise.
