Default Lists for camps. A total Failure.

Word on the street is Teal and Green offer Manastone/Jboot/Guises just like in classic, but there is a 100% non-classic mechanic in use to obtain them.

All ya gotta do is physically sit at the keyboard and hit an afk check every 10 minutes for up to (or over) 50 hours and these wonderful pixels can be yours.

During classic on blue, you asked the dude ahead of ya that was holding the list to put your name in, and you did something else that wasn't a mentally and physically terrible. Sometimes you asked them to text your phone. Life was peachy.

Yes, I get it... guilds or groups of friends will monopolize the camp, but frankly, this was something that was over-thought. Heres why:

1. We have a mechanic in place that is essentially a revolving door for loot that is forcing our community to stay logged in 40+ hours to get items. Sounds fun right?

Example. Ask anyone at Jboot or Manastone camp.

How about enforcing the person killing EE to be accountable for a list and capping it, rather than forcing the community to sit at the PC for several days at a time for an item that everyone wants.

And I am sure there will be an argument that.. well, don't like the rules, then don't do it? If these camps are just going to be a revolving door of people waiting in line for 50 hours, doesn't it defeat the entire reason these items are even special to begin with? Why have 2 classic servers, and neither of them have classic rules and it just be a revolving door of wasted time?

2. To add insult to injury, we have players who couldn't normally hold down these camps, holding down these camps. Further adding to the que.

Example. A level 25 warrior had Jboot camp, but couldnt get in the door, and couldnt kill Rathyl. The camp was held for several hours without the PH ever being killed. Most players under 30 would struggle holding down that room solo.

All you need is no life or a weeks vacation to sit and stare at the PC. This is a failed mechanic, and makes the most exciting part of the game one of the worst parts of p99.

3. I heard a story of someone who waited on the list for EE for 20 hours, got #1... then 4 hours into the camp, missed an AFK check before the PH even spawned and was removed.

This is how you lose your playerbase

Blue has shown that players will lawyer the crap out of any kind of personal enforcement and it's a lot easier to just make the computer do it.

Sorry for your profit loss.

I think the point that you have so clearly missed is that the VOLUNTEER guides don't want to have to enforce this bullshit and so they automated it instead.

The players have proven time and time again that they cannot be trusted to adhere to rules and courtesy. (Speaking of which your name looks super familiar!)

There is a huge difference from blue classic and green classic. There wasn't even a wiki for a while was there? EVERYONE knows where the manastone drops now, not to mention the population differences.

The players with no lives, no jobs and no wives have always been the ones to get the rarest loot in this game. I have never wanted these virtual items that badly but I can at least understand how it has to be this way in order for those rare items to have VALUE. It is what separates EQ from WoW.

Yes, the players with no lives get the loot. Not arguing that, but forcing the community to hit an afk check every 10 minutes for 20+ hours to even get a chance to fight the mob (for even us hardcores) is a failure imo.

So keep the list, do away with the afk is your solution?
