Initiate Symbol of Cazic Thule - faction needed?

Can an iksar shaman get a port to Toxx, and do this simple quest straight away? Or will it involve killing tons of Erudin guards to boost Paineel faction?

kill the erudin guards in the palace, because when they die they respawn as a little green wisp that gives a second faction hit for free. I think it took me around 4-6 hours of killing guards to be able to get into Paineel.

The necks are VERY useful though, so it's well worth the time.

Yep, definitely worth it...doesn't get nearly the love it should as compared to the "snare" neck

I'd love some more explanation on how useful it is. It only works on undeads, doesn't last long and without a snare it just sends an undead running all over the place.

I really like Iksars and I feel like rolling one as a shaman, but I am afraid of the no JBB/snare neck/slam deal

slam and jbb are largely useless, but snare neck's nice now that it stacks on root. it's a shitty low duration snare with a high cast time though. situational at best. you don't miss out on much being an iksar.

That's reassuring, but how about slow tanking caster mobs?
