is there a way to walk out of skeletal monk room (pits)? no ports, lev-hopping, gflux shenanigans

Maybe I am misunderstanding what you are asking, but I just take the ladder out of the water.

Yep, if you fall in the water from spider pits or if you went to skeletal monk area, just swim till you find the ladder. Iirc, it is in the NW corner of the water, but I might be wrong, it has been a long time now since I took it
