Tesch Val Scrolls Exp Amount 50% Lower
http://wiki.project1999.com/Tesch_Val_Scrolls
I am not sure if this was an accident or put in as a solution for first 30 days of Kunark and accidentally left in when superseded by 30-day exp ban, but.... scroll exp is 50% of pre-Kunark amounts. I tested on 51 DEF ENC. 1 yellow took 19 scrolls before Kunark, but now it takes 40. Tested DEF ENC at [Wed Dec 09 01:59:12 2020] EST I tested on 41 HFL DRU. 1 yellow took 5 scrolls before Kunark, but now it takes 10. Tested HFL DRU at [Wed Dec 09 02:42:09 2020] EST I also talked to Artelius Longwood. He had similar results of 50% less experience at levels 53/54 on HUM RNG.

I posted in another bug forum on accident. This is the correct one.

This is an intentional change. It should be a more accurate representation of the classic experience reward.

Can you please share the source that shows the experience reward for Tesch Val Scrolls Quest was different in classic than what is has been on P99?

Buying your way to max level was not an everquest original intention. Reducing scroll exp is thus in line with classic everquest

Also, your statement is wrong anyhow. Classic had people selling powerlevels and so does P99. Should we ban the sale of powerleveling? This line of thinking breaks into a much larger debate, which would be better organized in another thread. This thread is about a bug. The experience given by scrolls has changed. Artelius and myself, and I imagine others, are curious as to the source of this change. I'm sure the Devs have a source and so they made the change. It wouldn't make sense to change a longstanding precedent on a whim without a source showing the scroll exp was XYZ in classic.

Of course most sources are subjective comments gathered from Everlore archives under the quest sections in both qeynos and south karana, as well as under bestiary for the gnolls. I also read every comment from zam and Google groups.
Unfortunately there was only one comment that specifically mentioned how much experience was earned at level 23. That was the basis of the calculation I used. I’ll have to dig up link later. There was never a comment that suggested this quest had noteworthy experience. Which was certainly not the case on p99. That is often all we have to work with. If anyone finds additional evidence that the experience was substantially higher, I’ll gladly adjust.

Found it. https://web.archive.org/web/20030228...e=35&id=184420
It's interesting because he isn't sure and the the UI then didn't have a blue bar. If he got 1/2 a bub of exp instead of 1/3 it would have been easy to miss. There is an 11% cap on exp events, which means the most exp you can get is 1/2 bub per exp event. It's unfortunate we don't have any level 30+ sources. That's when gnoll scrolls stop hitting the 11% max and you can actually see the full amount of exp it gives.
