Default Mages and clickies

Are there are any useful clickies besides the burnt wood staff and Velks boots for mages that can alter their capabilities? I'm still annoyed they did a non-classic nerf of item recharges since mages lost their only ability to CC adds reliably with the wooly spider silk nets. (On that note, totally unfair to handicap us that way! I heard that even the original EQ in later expansions gave mages root).

Is there a rare/raid item root clicky or something similar for mages? Seems like item customization for mages is sorely lacking, unlike for necros/enchanters/even wizards, and never mind the shamans/druids. Necros even get a nasty 500 dmg clicky nuke too, and I heard even a splurt-like clicky leech dot in VP! What's in it for mages?

It's just how magicians were in classic through velious, I believe it got better for them with the introduction of AA's but that'll not ever be a thing here.

https://wiki.project1999.com/Clay_Bracelet is pretty handy if you raid. Also the clicks from the Velious armor pants/chest (pet haste and damage shield) are handy mana-savers when soloing.

No [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] All we can do is dream of custom content someday.

We do get a clicky in VP ... https://wiki.project1999.com/Sarnak_Channeler_Staff. However, it's pretty awful, because of the casting time. If you haven't gotten the Velious armor chest yet it is a way to get mana-free damage shields ... but even then I doubt you'll use it very often..

To build on what Loramin posted, the bracelet is amazing. There are a ton of clickies available, as far as altering capabilities, there are a few I think.

https://wiki.project1999.com/Earring...e_Frozen_Skull - 4 charges of DA, this is top tier

https://wiki.project1999.com/Duennan_Shielding_Ring - Rechargable DA? Yes please

https://wiki.project1999.com/Ornate_Velium_Pendant - Lets you walk around in SG

https://wiki.project1999.com/Manna_Robe - Best item you'll get on a mage besides epic

These are lesser but still interesting to have.

https://wiki.project1999.com/Shissar_Guardian_Staff - Mana free armor buff

https://wiki.project1999.com/Midnight_Mallet - Clicky slow

https://wiki.project1999.com/Reaper_of_the_Dead - Cheal for your pet

And of course there all the potions you can buy/use. IvU, shrink, Wort, Disease/Poison cures, port pots etc.

Mage is a class that is all about kit, playing a naked 60 versus a kitted out 60 is night and day! Here is the cure for your root woes:

https://wiki.project1999.com/Crystalline_Silk_Net

It's easy to farm, and you get valuable silk while doing it, just carry a few around with you and use liberally. You can recharge them at 1 charge, they disappear after 2nd charge.

I thought they raised the recharge price on those to be prohibitively expensive?

Yea or if you muck around in like Crystal Caverns you will end up with half a dozen to bag. As an emergency root they are great.

On my mage I have:
Clay Bracelet
Tash orb + Midnight mallet
Sow pot
Leatherfoot cap & Lizard Blood Potion
OT Mallet
Burnt Wood Staff
A lot of those crystalline spider silks
Wort Pots
Null Pots
Mystic Cloak

All you need is a cap to port back to WC and log on your more useful character. Hope that helps.

LOL Ripqozko. I feel like only druids get more hate than mages on here.

Thanks to the rest of you all. This was very helpful! I love the lists...gonna start with those crystalline silk nets!
