Which class would you rather play at end game? Necro or Ranger?
And why? Which is more useful, more fun, etc.

Depends on what you mean by end game. If I were planning to raid, probably ranger. If I were planning to play more casually, necro. Rangers are more gear dependent, and melees in general are just way more fun to gear out imo. Necros are incredibly self sufficient with minimal gear, and can solo/farm much better.

Necro for versatility sake.
Just a much stronger kit all around.

Necro just because you can do a lot of solo stuff.

I assume by end game you mean high end raiding. If that is the case, then neither...
You should have a well geared 60 warrior, 60 cleric or 60 rogue. Then have a "support" class alt to mix it up. Raid always needs twitches, FD pet pulls as well as SoN and CotP but you are still resigned to support unless you are out pulling with your necro.

I enjoyed my time raiding as a necro, so I would definitely recommend if you have the right mindset. You're a mana cleric that's vital to the raid machine, you DMF every once in a while when necessary, and make sure Jabober doesn't go off sightseeing. It's a pretty easy and laid back job, but the clerics miss you when you're not there - and it's always nice to be friends with the clerics.
