Basically what I'm saying is, you can violate the naming policy as long as it's not super blatant and it doesn't piss people off enough to petition you. Which I'm cool with, I like the lax naming policy. I just hate the Balers of the world.

Well, if my calculations are correct, since I've never petitioned a name and P99 has a very weird high-pop of trannys and hormone bangers, I think I have developed my own formula:
If you petition names on P99 you're growing fem-tits and/or eating your desk's cum-stalagtites'.

At some point during my 24 month melt down about Wu'Tang I petitioned Bree Olson <Rampage> after they beat us on a Vindy FTE. Bree Olson is the porn star who nearly contracted AIDS from Charlie Sheen. A GM even responded saying "thank you for bringing this to our attention" and yet Bree Olson lives on as an AIDS infested wh@re in <Awakened> and Wu'Tang remains a point of great agitation for me.

There's 4 or 5 names that I've petitioned occasionally as an experiment for over two years that are blatant violations and have never been changed even though both the character and staff are online - the petition just disappears. The key seems to be to get to 60 as fast as possible, join a major raiding guild, and/or be chummy with the staff, because they'll be less apt to change your name when those conditions are met.

At some point I think there was even a post or a log posted here on the forums of one of the staff saying that if you make it to 60 and have had the name long enough, they will be less inclined to change it. IDGAF enough to find it, but it seems true enough in my experience if the name isn't overly obscene.

I kinda remember what you are talking about -TK- but I think it was more like "if you want a goofy surname get to 60 and maybe we can talk", but irregardless (yes that's a word and its not redundant) I have found what you say to be true.

I made a druid named Cockmagic (Pras Kustt Prime) and Sirken teleported to me and deleted the character within 10 seconds of me logging in
