Default Cascade of Hail Spell Line

What are the best uses for the Cascade of Hail spell line? Please explain how to use these spells effectively. I have not found a good use or method for them considering they get resisted and damage the caster when close to mob(s).

on my shaman I sometimes Duo with a druid. When I magic debuff and root a mob we sometimes use our rain spells. They are very efficient damage to mana but it has to be the right mob.

So to answer your questions. low level rooted mobs when farming. root and debuff.

It has always bothered me just how useless the rain spells are on p99. On live they eventually fixed them to have normal resist rates, not get chewed up on self/pets, and would strike a single mob in camp 4x.

The worst thing about rains on p99 is how they autoresist on higher level mobs with low Hp remaining.
