Red may have a smaller population, but finding a group is pretty easy. Each additional group member brings a dramatic increase to bonus xp on red. People want full groups to maximize their efficiency, even if it means taking someone that isn't exactly the class they are hoping for.
But you end up with a toon stuck in Red [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Do townsfolk get mad if someone murders someone else in a city? When someone kills you, they can just loot your coin, not your gear with Red's ruleset, right? Do you just leave your coin in the bank in town or???

Low-level ganking occurs in popular zones only (Crushbone/Unrest/Mistmoore), but you level so fast with group xp bonus, that you will clear through those zones quickly.
Also, some "play nice" rules in place on red to limit the griefing.

No exp loss on PVP death.

No item loss on PVP death, only coin loss. If you are smart about carrying gems around, instead of coin, you will lose nothing in PVP.
Leave coin in bank, carry gems.

Everyone is flagged for PVP on red.

Red is alot lower in population. The Global OOC will allow you to find groups and to get to know the other players on server, even in off-peak times.
Low population has its advantages. More farm camps are open. Easier to get into the raid scene.

Also, hybrid classes are less shunned on Red because very few min-maxers and group XP bonus is so good that hybrid penalty not noticeable. Also, most players on blue are pretty well-geared out, unlike red.
